SITTING IS THE NEW SMOKING
Dr. James Levine, director of the Mayo Clinic-Arizona State University Obesity Solutions Initiative is credited with coining the phrase “sitting is the new smoking.” While this sounds extreme, Dr. Levine points out that as Americans go from “the driver’s seat to the office chair and then the couch at home, [we] are spending more time seated than ever, and it’s wreaking havoc on our bodies.”
This may be the new normal for many of us, but it doesn’t mean that we need to take it sitting down!
We see patients every day that suffer from pain associated a more sedentary lifestyle. Our therapists work to first correct problems / relieve pain and then give you the tools you need for a more healthy work and home life.
